Construction Administration Project Manager

Job Description

Our hospitality design firm is seeking a Construction Administration Project Manager (10+ years of experience, some hospitality experience required) to join our growing design firm. We are seeking a passionate, collaborative, and

experienced architect that can oversee the execution of medium-large scale projects in the construction phase. The preferred candidate has experience implementing multiple hospitality or commercial projects simultaneously and of complex detail.

Once engaged, it is the role of the CAPM to; be regularly present on site and act as a liaison for the firm to the client, contractor and all other relevant parties necessary; maintain project schedule, deliverables, and client expectations; participate in construction progress meetings, prepare reports for construction progress, and make decisions to resolve construction conflicts; be a resource to the firm and young designers as a wealth of knowledge for technical details, project delivery, and professional development.

Job Requirements

  • Strong ability to manage, oversee, and deliver projects under construction with minimal oversight
  • Showcases experience in direct client and contractor relations, including but not limited to direct communication, payment & schedule management, and management of expectations
  • Direct activities related to construction administration including scheduling, preparation of contract documents including supplemental instructions & construction change directives, timely review of shop drawings, RFIs & submittals, field observations, report of change orders, ASI, substantial completion, and pay requests
  • Effectively demonstrate technical detailing and problem-solving skills on complex project types in a time-pressure environment
  • Ability to manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ensure that construction administration activities emphasize efficiency, quality assurance, and code compliance while maintaining design intent

Job Qualifications

  • 10+ Years’ experience in medium- large scale/hospitality projects with a depth of experience in construction field or construction administration
  • Professional Architectural Registration required
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture or related field from an accredited university required
  • Strong experience using industry standard CA software such as NewForma and/or ProCore; Proficiency in BlueBeam, AutoCAD, Revit preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of code analysis, sustainability, and integrated design guidelines & requirements
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills; reliable & predictable attendance required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
